This presentation and discussion will show how to incorporate the use of technology, specifically Web 2.0 tools, into the classroom in order to engage students in the learning process. A variety of tools will be explored in this hands-on lab session. Blogs, organizational tools, mind maps, presentation tools, and video apps allow for greater student collaboration than ever before. Apps covered include: iEtherpad, Crocodoc, Voxopop, Linoit, Glogster, PollEverywhere, and more. Bring your favorites to share!

What will attendees at this presentation learn that they can apply at their institution/organization?:
Attendees will understand how incorporating Web 2.0 tools into their classrooms will allow for greater student engagement and accountability. They will actually use a few of the tools during the presentation to allow the attendees to see some of the tools in action. Also, several tools and examples of how they can be used in a blended, Asynchronous or Synchronous learning environment will be beneficial for students and staff. The ability to see how many tools there are out there and an awareness of how they can help students become more in charge of their learning and engaged in any content area.
