Presenter Name(s):
Linda Jameson Abstract:
More and more students with Autism Spectrum Disorders are being taught in regular and online classrooms, so instructors need to understand the difficulties both they and the student might have interacting. The Autism Spectrum does include high-functioning autism/Asperger Syndrome so the trouble the students could be having might not be obvious. Just understanding the potential problems might be enough, but there are evidence based techniques that an instructor can try both on campus and online. Since there is such a variety of people on the Autism Spectrum more than one technique will probably have to be tried, so more than one technique will be covered in the presentation.
