Education and the Power of Social Networking for Student Retention

As online programs continue to grow in popularity, institutions are challenged with finding ways to engage and retain students in the virtual learning environment. By connecting the online classroom with Epsilen’s powerful social networking platform, institutions engage students in dynamic courses and retain affiliation with them once the courses are completed.
This presentation will discuss the implementation of a transformative "next generation" teaching and learning tool, Epsilen. By providing Web 2.0 tools within groups and courses in addition to an electronic portfolio system, instructors provide support mechanisms beyond the school day to the students.
