Automating Lecture Capture to Reduce Faculty Stress

Presenter Name(s):
Chuck Coopman - Sonic Foundry Abstract:
Academic institutions that consider making class content available online in a rich media format are likely to encounter faculty resistance - for a number of reasons:
- Putting yet another layer of technology between an instructor and their class can be intimidating and distracting.
- Faculty don’t want their classes appearing randomly on public web sites, and have concerns about intellectual rights on their content.
- Students will stop coming to their class.
There is a way to satisfy these concerns, meet the institutional and enterprise needs to expand campus reach beyond its physical walls, and not kill your budget. We’ll demonstrate successful strategies to achieve these objectives.
