Description:
From smartphones to the new iPad, mobile devices continue to permeate our society.  For today’s students, these devices have become a natural part of their environment and their connected lives.  When students enter classes on a daily basis, however, many times, we ask them to put away their devices, disconnect and learn in an environment that is unlike their home, or native, environment.Today’s students expect to see mobile devices used in both formal and informal environments.  This interactive session will facilitate a discussion of productive uses of mobile devices as instructional tools as well as review obstacles and challenges to using personal mobile devices in the classroom.

Description:
The increasing popularity of eReaders and eBooks raises many questions for instructors…should I use eBooks in my class? Where do I find them? How can students access them? The panel will discuss the strengths, challenges and potential uses of the current crop of eBooks and mobile devices in an instructional setting.  Participants will have some "hands on" opportunties with eReader devices.

Mobile Central offers a one-stop-shop for an array of services for students, staff, faculty, and alumni on any campus. We will talk about our vision for eLearning on mobile devices and will demonstrate Mobile Learn and Mobile Central.
