CharterCharter

Purpose: Colleague to Colleague (C2C) is designed to facilitate the exchange of information and expertise between faculty and staff involved or interested in instructional technology, online instruction, and distance education. The organization's primary focus is on staff development and collaboration between the community colleges, technical colleges, and universities governed by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Membership: Colleague to Colleague membership is open to all interested faculty and staff employed by C2C institutions. Participating institutions in C2C include Kansas or Missouri technical and community colleges, State Regents universities, as well as private institutions of higher education with common interests and goals. All meetings of the organization are open to the entire membership.

Voting Rights: When issues are resolved through a formal vote, each institution represented at a meeting shall have a single vote to cast. Each institution may designate the voting member by notifying the Chairperson of C2C.

Officers: Colleague to Colleague activities will be coordinated by a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and two Forum Coordinators. These four officers shall serve as a steering committee to handle C2C business and planning activities between meetings of the organization.

Chairperson: Shall preside over all meetings of the organization and coordinate its activities during his/her term of office. For the academic school year 2000-2001, the Chairperson shall be elected at the Summer Institute (June 2000) for a one-year term. Subsequent to the first year of operation under this charter, the Vice Chairperson shall become the Chairperson after serving as Vice Chair for one academic school year.

Vice-Chairperson: Shall preside over meetings in the absence of the Chairperson and shall assist the Chairperson in coordinating the scheduled forums and workshops planned by the organization. The Vice-Chair shall also serve as the organization's secretary-treasurer, as needed. The Vice-Chairperson shall be elected in the Spring each year by voting members of C2C to serve a one-year term as Vice Chair. After completion of the academic year as Vice Chair, the individual in that position shall assume the position of C2C Chairperson for the subsequent academic school year.

Forum Coordinators: C2C shall schedule a Fall and Spring Faculty Forum each year. The individual identified by each host institution to coordinate the Forum shall be designated the Forum Coordinator and serve on the C2C steering committee.

Activities: C2C will maintain a web presence which includes a searchable database of online courses offered by member institutions, and plan two Faculty Forums each year, plus a Summer Institute (SIDLIT). C2C will also maintain an electronic mailing list (c2c@list.jccc.net) for communication between members. Other meetings may be called by the Chair.
